Not only is it good interview etiquette, but a thank you note reinforces your interest in a position. Use your thank you letter to address any issues or concerns that came up during the interview.

You can also consider your thank you as a follow up sales pitch. Restate why you want the job; what your qualifications are; how you might make contributions to the organization; and so forth.  Although, remember that your thank you note should be brief and to the point.

Two brief paragraphs is plenty.  Sending your thank you note in an email or the more traditional note or card are all acceptable mediums for getting your message across.  

A thank you letter is the perfect opportunity to discuss anything of importance that you didn't answer as thoroughly as you would have liked during the job interview.
